UX Research & UX Audit for Product Designer

UX research is the practice of understanding user behaviors, needs, and motivations through various investigation methods. It provides the context and insights to the design process by gathering data and synthesizing that data to build a right product.

The main goal of design research is to get a clear picture of attitudinal information (what people say and how they feel) and thebehavioral information (what people do) from the end user perspective.

User research helps us understand the constraints and opportunities of the customer we’re building for and is a core part of building a successful product.

Before starting Research and testing we should understand User goal

The most important question to ask ourselves before deciding on what research methods to use is:

What do we want to know?

1. Who are the users?
2. What are their behaviors, goals, motivations, and needs?
3. What assumptions have you made about them?
4. How do they currently use your product?
5. What other products do they use?
6. Where do they have problems with their workflow?
7. Do they like using your product?

Behavioral research aims to measure what users actually do, providing quantitative data about how users actually interact with website. what people do.

Qualitative data is for understanding of the motivations, thoughts, and attitudes of people. It relies on the observation and collection of non-numerical insights such as opinions and motivations.
